Sterling Silver and Cameo Ring

This is an antique ring. A hand-carved conch cameo mounted in sterling silver. The ring itself is hallmarked. The faint outlines and traces of the hallmark are there, to be seen with a jewelers' loop. But they are far from legible. I assume the marks to be British.

The carving on this cameo, is very simple. Almost unfinished in places. For that reason alone, I do like this piece. In it's naivety it is wonderful in a fanciful way.

The cameo measures approximately 3/4" x 9/16". The band is approximately a size 7-1/2.
