Rimmel Perfume Casket - Made in England

This is a very interesting little casket. Inside the tooled leather chest are found two hand-cut crystal perfume bottles. These bottles are not unique, but are most definitely the original bottles that this little casket was meant to protect. Each bottle and stopper is marked with either one or two stylized "S's" to show which stopper goes with which bottle.

The casket and bottles are from "Rimmel". An English perfume company, established in London in 1834. This casket is circa 1910.

The black leather exterior does show a fair bit of wear, as do the metal findings. The original key is still in the lock and it works very well. The original silk-satin lining is in the lid, the original velvet lines the bottom. This is a wonderful find which has been priced in accordance with the condition it has been found in.
