This Hampton sauce boat is a little rough. Shabby chic would be an honest term to apply to this little dish. I do find pieces like this one to be quite wonderful though. It has been much used over it's lifetime. Whether that was because someone loved this little sauceboat, with its decoration of fruit and flowers, or because it was a shape which worked for the use it was put to.... That really doesn't matter. Because in familiarity, there is comfort, and these piece looks used enough to have become one of those familiar pieces of everyday.

Size: Total height is about 3". Diameter of the plate is approximately 7-3/4" and diameter of the boat, at the widest point is about 6-3/8".

Condition: There is a 3/4" hairline crack at on edge. This crack has been there for a long time and likely relieved a bit of stress at the rim. I have owned this piece for several years now, and there has been no movement of or increase in the size of this area. There is also wear of the dark red trim. Much more on one side of the dish than on the other side. The photos show the side with the most wear.
