Cough Lozenges.

Dissolve licorice in water to the consistency of thin molasses, add to the dough, made of gum water and sugar, and work it well; also work in at the same time 2 ounces of ipecacuanha, 1 dram acetate of morphia (morphine), 1 ounce oil of aniseed, 1 ounce powdered tartaric acid: mix thoroughly, roll out and cut.
