Campfire Girl Uniform - 1960's
In the 1960's, if you were going to be a Campfire Girl, you had to make your own uniform - or your Mom had to make it for you. These handmade dresses are wonderful finds. They weren't all well made, they were made to have fun in. Now, although they are rightly deemed "politically incorrect", they contain treasured memories and are wonderful collectibles.

I was told that this handmade Campfire Girl dress was made in 1964. It is in "as found" condition. There are some marks on it, whether those marks are stains or not, I really don't know. They are most likely areas of discoloration from under badges that are no longer on the dress. The honor beads, badges and pins have been left on the dress, as found. The leather fringes are in good condition.

Approximate measurements: Total length from shoulder seam to the bottom of the fringes is 44". Chest is approximately 38" (19" across from side seam to side seam, measured at the underarm seam).
