Boyd-Bond Earrings, Sterling Silver w/ Gold Wash - New Listing

An unusual pair of vintage earrings. These clip-back earrings by Boyd-Bond are sterling silver washed in 14k gold. The gold plating is slightly worn, a sign of age and use on this estate jewelry. The purple rhinestones are always a treasure to find. This rare color in signed costume jewelry is an often sought after and rarely found anymore. The three tiny round crystals in each earrings are bezel set, the baguettes are claw set. All the rhinestones are in beautiful condition.

Size: The earrings each measure approximately 1-5/16" x 5/8" at the widest points. Total weight for the pair is 4.9 grams.

Condition: These earrings have seen a lot of wear. The gold is wearing a little on them. The photographs are excellent and do show this. There are no silver or black areas, but there are areas of the surface where the 'patina' is a little lighter in color. The screw-backs work however, they are small and are no longer perfect and straight. This would be due to the fact that sterling silver is a soft metal and just does not stand up to wear as well as other metals. This pair of earrings is exquisite, and very wearable. I have looked and have not found any cracks or damage to the backings other a bit of misshaping. The problems I have described are from age and use. In perfect condition I would price this pair at $45. I have priced this pair appropriately considering the condition which they are in.
