The Beach, Looking East From Palace Hotel, Southend-on-Sea - Vintage 1930s Real Photo Postcard - Sold

Product Description

I wasn't going to list this particular card. It has a bent corner (only one and not very bad) and there is a tear of the surface paper in the back (something was stuck to the back at one time, it's been torn off). But, it is such a great card! It is the port at Southend-on-Sea, seen from the Palace Hotel. This photograph shows two ships in the harbour. It is the 1930s. The war is not far off. There are people on the beaches walking and being with friends and family, in the pool in puttering about in little rented power boats, and out on the water sailing little sail boats... I wonder if they knew? I wonder if they suspected anything?
Condition: As mentioned above. The top left corner has a small crease and there is a surface tear on the back. Both of these problems show in my photographs. Shipping is included in the price, that makes this card almost free!
On the Front of the Card: "The Beach Looking East from Palace Hotel, Southend-on-Sea" and "414"
On the Back of the Card: "Excel Series"
