Basket with Imbricated Lid - Thompson River Salish

This is perhaps the smallest Salish basket I have ever seen. This basket is from the Thompson River area. The yarn that is in the basket (please see the photo) was in it when I purchased the basket. It appears to be leftover little scraps of 'sock yarn'.

The basket is in excellent condition. The red and black and the diamonds has deteriorated a little over the years - an expected sign of age on these baskets. The lid slips on and off easily and fits perfectly. The weaving is well done.

Size: Approximately 4" in height with the lid on x 4-1/4" in diameter at the widest point. The inside diameter of the top opening is approximately 3-3/8".
